texttoaudio.io

Privacy policy

Short version: your text goes to a speech provider and your audio to a transcription provider, we keep neither, the browser converters never upload anything, and an account is only an email address.

Effective 8 October 2026. This policy explains how the operator of texttoaudio.io ("we") handles data. Contact: [email protected].

SubscribeEmail, plan, payment detailsOur payment processor, on its own hosted page. We never see card numbers. We keep the plan, renewal date and order reference. The processor keeps billing records as tax law requires.

The speech and transcription providers process content to return the result. We send only the text or audio, never your email, account or IP address.

2. Usage counters

To enforce free daily limits without requiring an account, our server stores one-way hashes of (a) characteristics your browser reports (screen size, time zone, language, platform and similar) and (b) your IP address, next to the number of characters and seconds used. These counters expire after two days. For paid accounts the counters are tied to the account and expire 40 days after the billing period. Hashes cannot be turned back into an IP address and are not shared.

3. Browser storage

The site stores your last chosen voice and, when signed in, your email address in your browser's local storage, plus a session cookie that keeps you signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare, our host, keeps standard request logs (IP address, user agent, URL, time) for up to 30 days for security.

4. Deleting your data

  • Account: on the account page, use "Delete account". The account record is deleted immediately and every session stops working. Cancel a paid plan first; deleting the account does not by itself stop a subscription at the payment processor.
  • Anything else: email [email protected] from the address concerned. We reply within 30 days.
  • Text and audio: we hold none. Provider copies expire as listed above.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, and object to or restrict processing. Our legal basis for processing content is performing the service you ask for; for counters and logs it is our legitimate interest in a fair free tier and a secure service. You may complain to your data protection authority.

6. Children

The service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Accounts are for users aged 16 or over.

7. Changes

We post changes here with a new effective date. If we change which providers process your content, we say so on this page before the change takes effect.
